ABOUT ME

I am Professor of Financial and Monetary Economics at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management ↗. Prior to joining Frankfurt School in 2021, I was Head of Research of Deutsche Bundesbank and Professor of Economics at Goethe University Frankfurt. I started my career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where I held several positions from 2007 until 2015. 

My research mainly focuses on the intersection of macroeconomics and finance and has been published in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Monetary Economics and many others. My research was rewarded with the Journal of Finance’s Amundi Smith Breeden First Prize in 2015 and the European Economic Association's Young Economist Award in 2008. 

I obtained a Diploma and Ph.D. in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin and hold the degree of Statisticien Economiste from ENSAE in France.

I am an advisor to several Research Institutes and Central Banks and serve as Associate Editor at the International Journal of Central Banking.

I also co-direct the Centre for Central Banking ↗ at Frankfurt School.
